Downers Grove, IL is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States.

The Village of Downers Grove is located approximately 22 miles (35 km) west of Chicago’s Loop. It is situated along major transportation routes, interstates I-355 and I-88, and two Illinois state highways, Route 83 and Belmont Road.

The town is home to several annual events, including the Downers Grove Heritage Festival, the Downtown Downers Grove Fine Arts Festival, the Hometownfest fireworks celebration, a Santa Parade, and the Taste of Downers Grove food festival. It is also home to two major shopping malls: Oakbrook Center and Yorktown Center.

Downers Grove has a rich history in music. In 1967, the first Lollapalooza music festival was held in the town’s Memorial Park. The annually recurring event moved to other Chicago suburbs before settling in Grant Park in 2005. Another music festival called EdgeFest has been held in Downers Grove since 1992.

There are many places for kids to enjoy in Downers Grove. For example, the Downers Grove Park District operates more than 50 parks covering nearly 1,400 acres (5.7 km2) of land, as well as two recreation centers, a water park, a museum, an outdoor theater, and a golf course. In addition, the village is home to numerous playgrounds, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds. The town also has a public library and several private schools.
